Next month Russell Crowe is auctioning of half of his watch collection, the 29 watches form part of his post divorce clearance and are being sold off 'in the spirit of moving forward'

The auction is also going to include film memorabilia, 2 motorcycles, Australian art, loads of cricket-related items and 19 guitars from his days of playing with 30 Odd Foot Of Grunts.

The auction will be held in Sotherby's in Sydney on April 7, which is also  Crowe's 54th birthday and what would have been Crowe and Spencer's 15th wedding anniversary. Crowe is clearly looking for a fresh start. The auction catalogue can be seen HERE

Sotheby's has dubbed the auction as "Russell Crowe: The Art of Divorce."

Each of the watches will be accompanied by a personal letter that gives the buyer some amazing provenance and background about when and where it was purchased.  Those following him on Twitter can see what is being sold in more detail.

Russell has confirmed that  watches sold would include “Panerai, Rolex, Cartier, Vacheron Constantine, Chopard, Breitling, Omega, IWC, Asprey, Chanel and others”.
