The OMEGA Moonwatch "First OMEGA in Space" Numbered Edition

December 27, 2015 1 min read

Astronaut Walter "Wally" Schirra made history for OMEGA in 1962 when he wore his own personal Speedmaster during the “Sigma 7” mission. October 3rd, marked the start of a long history of space exploration for OMEGA’s now-iconic Speedmaster Chronograph.
The Speedmaster "First OMEGA in Space" brings back the classic look inspired by Schirra’s pioneering moment.
The 18K Sedna™ gold case is based on the original Speedmaster, with symmetric lugs and a 1962 Seahorse medallion on the caseback. The timepiece features a unique brown polished ceramic bezel ring and a matt chromium nitride tachymeter scale. `As well as brown PVD subdials and minutes track. Along with the applied indexes, the hands are all made of 18K Sedna™ gold.
Special engravings feature on the caseback; "THE FIRST OMEGA IN SPACE", "OCTOBER 3, 1962" and "NUMBERED EDITION  No."
The watch is completed with a brown leather strap with beige stitching.
This special watch not only reminds us of a time when humans were first venturing beyond Earth, but also of the beautiful Speedmaster design that is still with us today.
