Since 2000, Pantone has chosen a Colour of the Year, which reflects what is taking place in our global culture, expressing what people are looking for that colour can hope to answer.
For 22 years, Pantone’s Colour of the Year has influenced product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries, including fashion, home furnishings, and industrial design, as well as product packaging and graphic design.
Pantone 2022 Colour Of The Year - ‘Very Peri’
For the first time this year, Pantone decided to create a new shade that wasn't already in its existing catalogue of colours for its colour of the year. To do so, the company blended blue tones with a violet-red.
The resulting Very Peri is similar to colours commonly found in nature, such as lavender flowers and birds with light purple plumage.
